2012-05-02

Southern California - Lace Music Products®, is proud to announce the signing and endorsement by Mastodon guitar players Brent Hinds and Bill Kelliher.

Lace® pickups is one of the oldest and respected pickup manufacturers in the industry today. Lace® has been in the forefront of pickup design since the original Lace Sensor® was introduced in 1985.

Both Mastodon players have been using Lace pickups regularly on their respective guitars for some time. Collectively, they now have decided to use Lace® pickups exclusively in their guitars. Brent Hinds, uses Drop and Gain™ humbuckers and Bill Kelliher, uses the Nitro-Hemi™ humbuckers, respectively.

Both of these models have been designed for the metal player.

Mastodon, is one of the largest and most successful heavy metal bands today. They were recently nominated for a Grammy® this year, for their track "Curl of the Burl" from the album "The Hunter" for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

Lace® will be doing future collaborations with the band members.

Don Lace, President, stated "As the most innovative electric guitar pickup company around, we felt we could offer the metal player something more true to the tone that they are looking for, without the need for batteries and circuit boards. All of which can fail on stage. I'm proud to say, that we have had an overwhelming positive response to our new emphasis on the metal community. Players are unanimous in their appreciation for a battery free alternative."

Lace® has recently also signed to their metal playing roster in the past few months; Wino, Matt Pike of High On Fire, Scott Kelly of Neurosis, David Sullivan of Red Fang, Victor Griffin of Pentagram, Phillip Cope of Kylesa and Jeff Tuttle of Dillinger Escape Plan just to name a few.
